Monitoring printers with NetCrunch

Did you know that aside from monitoring networks and network infrastructure, NetCrunch is capable of SNMP monitoring on a granular level, such as monitoring printers and even their ink level?

In order to save you time and the hassle, you can set up NetCrunch to automatically check up on all your office printers, and alert you when the toner or ink level drops below your specified threshold. No more printing outages, not functioning printers or manually checking up on each printer in order to get supplies!

All you need to do is to add an SNMP device, classify it as a printer, select the right MIB (we have a MIB compiler, as well!) and set the settings, and create an alerting rule based on SNMP variables. You can see step-by-step instructions here.

In order to make your life easier, you can also create a visual representation of each ink level, so you can have a quick glance over all your printers within your network and all their statuses.
